The Glasshouse
I discovered the Glasshouse after dining at Chez Bruce the flagship restaurant by the same owners. Chez Bruce gave us a voucher for 1/2 priced 3 course meal.
We thought we'd have to give it ago. It was such a good experience. I actually prefered the atmosphere, service and the food at the Glasshouse compared with Chez Bruce. The atmosphere was very relaxed, but the service is professional and discreet. It's a nice open dining room unlike Chez Bruce which feels a little more cramped.
We went for a lamb dish which just melted in your mouth. It was superbly cooked. This was after having an endive salad with blue cheese and walnuts, a very simple and classic dish that always tastes good.
For dessert I had a (from what I remember correctly) white choclate icecream with more choclately extras and goats cheese!! Well, it works, it was very tasty. The goats cheese gives it the edge.
I was really pleased with my experience here, 3 courses for two people and a good bottle of wine and coffees plus tips came to about £135, this was with the discount. It might be considered expensive, but I don't mind paying that every once in a while when the service and food match your expectations. I am a big fan of Chez Bruce, but an even bigger fan of The Glasshouse!

Princess Victoria
I did a search recently for good pubs in london that serve Sunday roast. Stumbled across this one. I was able to park right outside and it is easy to get to.
I really liked the decor inside. It felt very welcoming. The dinning room is really grand, the atmosphere was good. our waiter was charming, not at all intrusive but never kept us waiting.
We ordered the starters, asparagus with hollandaise sauce and veal cappacio. To be honest we weren't massively impressed. It was fine but nothing to be that excited about. Then the roast beef arrived. And it fullfilled all my sunday roast desires!
It was truly delicious. The beef itself was some of the best I have had at a pub. Really succulent and minimal gristle/fat. the potatoes cooked in duck fat were divine. Super crispy and all the great flavour from the duck fat. The cabage again was really tasty, I believe it was cooked with Ale. Added a lot of character.
I didn't think I could eat any more after that, but spotted another table having the sticky toffee pudding... I just had to try it. Except I did more than try, I ate it all quite quickly. It was the best sticky toffee pudding I have had. really was special.
I would more than happily go here again, truely a great find. And the price was very reasonable considering the quality of the food.

Sushi 54
I have been going here for just over a year now.
I disagree with the other reviews here. The atmosphere may not match some of the more pricey restaurants I've been to in London, but I go here more for the quality of the food. And the price might be high, but what you get is quality. They clearly use high quality ingredients as it always tastes superb. The fish is real fresh and the presentation is beautiful.
When you think about it you'll probably spend a fiver on some tiny nasty sushi set from Pret a manger or the likes which has been prepped somewhere miles away about 5 days before! The portions here are much larger and as said before the quality is top. You get what you pay for.
I have had to wait for deliveries before, but this is probably because they are busy with lots of orders. another sign that it is clearly popular with it's client base.
somethings to try should you want to go there are the tuna tempura roll. The soft shell crab temaki. the nigiris- particularly love their avocado nigiris. Sea bass tempura is real nice too. and the Somen salad with crab is delicious!
Keep up the good work Sushi 54, from a happy customer :o)
