Ceviche

The staff kept asking if we were enjoying ourselves and would come back. Yes.

Food was fresh and zingy but I'd tend to agree with those reviewers who thought the ceviche was the least interesting of the lot. Octopus was silky smooth and a grilled chicken dish was moreish with a yummy aji amarillo dip.

I'd say it was good value for the variety and quality of food.

Left happy and yearning for vintage pacific surf as depicted in possibly the best loos in London.

Hawksmoor Spitalfields

Crab and samphire was fresh and delicious but a bit too lemony. Steak was beautifully charred, medium rare as requested and served with crispy fluffy chips. Great ingredients cooked simply. And that's the problem when the prices are so very eye-wateringly high. I'd love to eat here again but I wouldn't pay for it when you can do almost as well buying quality produce and cooking at home. Good chips though.

Pitt Cue Co

The food (and you all know what that is by now) is delicious and they serve good beer.

Tasty satisfying meat fest? Yes!

Worth the queue? Definitely get there early.

Better than Bodeans? Pork = yes, beef ribs = no, sides = yes.

Lots of people taking photos of their lunch.

Spuntino

Spuntino is a fun place to go with a great atmosphere. It's worth visiting for this alone but having been once we're unlikely to return. Sliders were nice but basically you're paying £5 for a quarter of a burger - you do the math.

Mains were less good. We had the cuttlefish with butter beans which was homogenous but ok. The spicy sausage with polenta was fennel sausage in an uninteresting tomato sauce.

Go, enjoy the music, check out the decor, chat to the staff, emerge from an unmarked door in soho but don't expect to be wowed by what you eat.
