I have mixed feelings about Silka. The first time I went without a tastecard, it was a very pleasant experience with very nice staff. However, the second visit was quite different.
On the specific day I had called numerous times before to try to make a booking and by the umpteenth call I managed to get through at 7pm (1 hour before). I requested a booking informing them I had tried calling previously and wanted to use a tastecard, but when I spoke to the person over the phone they informed me that they were fully booked until 9pm. However, I went early (8pm) and the restaurant was empty?!
We requested a tastelondon discount after me informing them of having called a number of times, they only agreed to a discount as my friend is a regular visitor, but said I needed to call 24 hours before!
I was served by a couple of very friendly staff and a couple of incredibly grumpy staff...it may be because it was Ramadan, but honestly, they really didn't try. Thankfully the other two almost made up for it.
Leaves me unsure.
