I recently took my wife and two friends for Dinner at Petrus. If there is a better restaurant in London I have yet to find it. I have been several times before but not for at least a year. I was remembered by the staff and welcomed back; a great touch. Food can not be faulted. For me a stunning dish of sweetbreads followed by suckling pig. Then outstanding cheese and a tarte tatin off menu which was extraordinary. The other touches such as the canapes and pre deserts and bonbons were faultless. Outstanding wine waiter who produced some great and unusual choices. Also a visit to the kitchen after dinner was great. Very expensive of course but to my mind better than any of the other Gordon Ramsay restaurants including Royal Hospital Road. How Petrus can only have one Michelin star when compared to other restaurants is a mystery.
