Rasa W1

I went to Rasa on Saturday for a good friend's birthday. Having heard bits from friends and being part South Indian (!) I was expecting a nice meal and am pleased to say it didn't disappoint. We were treated to poppadams and an array of pickles to start. We opted for no starters and chose a mixture of items to share including chicken masala and pooris which were all delicious. My birthday friend opted for a dosa which she was impressed with. We managed to grab the attention of a waiter when my friend was not looking, to arrange a quick birthday surprise. Apart from our ordered desserts they specially brought a pancake with three scoops of ice cream and candles for her. Although we forgot our camera, the waiters very thoughtfully offered to email us a picture using the restaurant camera.

It was a really nice gesture and fitting end to a scrumptious meal.

I celebrated my birthday at Nobu a couple of weeks ago with a few friends. It really was a great evening. We had a very nice waiter, who explained a variety of different dishes. We ordered a selection of tempura, followed by their infamous black cod which did not disappoint.

My friends and I were swayed by the desserts which were beautifully laid out. The chef had even wished me a happy birthday on mine.

It is expensive, but definitely worth a visit.

Covent Garden Grill

I have had dinner here for the last two Saturdays in a row. The chicken is really good. And if you fancy chocolate after your meal, the chocolate cup dessert will satisfy your craving!

Atmosphere is very relaxed, and the service is attentive/ friendly.

Try it!

Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's

We went to Claridges yesterday to celebrate my mum's birthday. It was such a lovely afternoon.

We all had the risotto which was absolute perfection, followed by the salmon which was oh so succulent!!!

This was topped by dessert of macademia nut brittle biscuit accompanied by bitter chocolate mousse.

In between they gave us a mouche bouche of soup and chocolates.

I rang up beforehand mentioning that it was my mum's birthday. They brought to our table a beautiful platter with Happy Birthday iced next to a scoop of strawberry sorbet.

The service was impeccable and if you are celebrating a special occasion this is for you!
