RedHook
Lunch midweek. Half-empty (or half-full, depending on your personality) - which was lucky since, despite making a reservation over the telephone, there was no record of any booking - and pretty soulless as a result. Attentive waiters. Excellent scallops to begin with and slightly overcooked steak and langoustines for main course. Perfectly adequate and eminently unmemorable.

Cambio de Tercio
I was particularly struck by two things when having dinner at this restaurant last night: the high quality and creativity of the food was one; the pressure in ordering and thereafter the rushed service was another. I shall not write further on the former because this has already been dealt with comprehensively by other reviewers, save to say that the food is really very good. However, the latter needs to be properly taken into account as much by diners as by the management. Having said that, this should not deter others from enjoying this good restaurant: just be firm and polite - as we were after having been assailed by the staff to take the table's orders on no less than 2 occasions in as many minutes just after being handed the menus: in the end, the staff agreed to leave us alone until we signalled to them that we were ready. Thereafter everything worked perfectly adequately (although our wine glasses were replenished virtually after every sip)! So, all in all, two memories: (i) good food and wine and (ii) rush, rush, rush.

Olivomare
Smart, good service, good food, High decibel level - which might irritate one's grandparents (although the clientele was predominantly local and (relatively) youthful - by which I mean 30s).

The Little French Restaurant
For what it purports to be - which is a cheerful, busy, relatively inexpensive, bistro-style, French restaurant - it is very good. Do not expect great cuisine or comfort but there is plenty of charm. There is a prix fixe of £9.95 for 3 courses (salads and side orders additional) which is very good value. The wine list is modest but commensurately not expensive. We found the service to be good. Credit cards are not accepted. I shall go back.
