Ping Pong (Market Place)

Came here in a group on Sunday. Was very empty so found a table easily. The selection of dim sum here is very limited. They dont do anything except dim sum so if you are looking for dishes of roast duck on the side or noodles, you wont find any. The dim sum served was okay, though some things like the won ton soup, made us wonder whether the chef was Thai as was sweet and sour which is not how wonton soup should taste like. The specialty teas are worth trying, as one of us ordered a tea that looked like a shrivelled pod in a glass when hot water was added on it at the table, opened to reveal a beautiful red flower.

Phoenix Palace

Very busy, had to queue for more than half an hour on a Saturday for a table. Food, nothing special, just okay.

Yming

Went to Yming recently, and the standard of cooking is still as good as ever. One thing I've discovered that I really love here is the peking duck which needs to be pre-ordered at least 4 hours in advance. Definitely worth ordering, it beats all other styles of duck hands down.

Kitchen W8

Booked a table via their website mid-October for Sunday dinner. The location was abit strange but once in the front door was like in a different place all together. Love the decor, quiet understated and very cosy. The food was amazing, staff attentive, nothing to complain about. All in all looking forward for the next time I can dine here. They have fixed price menus during the week at very low prices, a bargain.

Yming

In response to the reviewer who was based in HK for 5 years, the standard of Chinese cooking in Hong Kong and that of other asian countries such as Singapore and Taiwan is much higher than it is in the UK. Therefore, I can understand this persons viewpoint of chinese food in London. Perhaps the only restaurant of comparable standard can be seen from the dim sum served at Hakkasan. However, as UK standards of Chinese cuisine, Yming is still the one of best ones out of the bunch. To the point, that I am going there for dinner this weekend!

Hazuki

Went here on the 24 September around 7pm had no reservation. Never visited the restaurant before, this was a first time. The staff were friendly and quickly seated us upstairs. They had a good selection of food ordered tempura dishes and sashimi as well as some hand rolls and agadashi tofu. Everything that we ordered was really good. The sashimi was super fresh and amazing. I ordered a sashimi platter which had like 12 pieces for 15 pounds, which I though was great value. The only thing I didnt like was the agadashi tofu which was not crispy nor soft in fact the batter was glaggy and nasty wont order that again! all in all, it was a great experience and my sister was equally impressed. I eat alot of japanese food and it's a really great place. I didnt really notice the lack of music and the waitresses were swift and friendly!
