We have only been for Saturday lunch - but find this a great place, a little oasis in this area. The restaurant is quite small, the tables are a reasonable size, but we like sitting at the counter. It seems dishes are designed to share and we had a selection of small plates and sashimi - all of which were very good quality. The chef was a delight - attentive and helpful. Service too was good.

There is a good, extensive sake list, with short descriptions - not cheap, but confess I don't know how they would compare elsewhere.

Will certainly return.

Zucca

We're local and so have visited Zucca a few times. Really surprised about the comments on the service as have always found the service to be very efficient and friendly. Menu is good, seasonal, uncomplicated food. Particularly like the starters which are very reasonably priced and offer some interesting ingredients. The pasta has always been great. Zucca are also really serious about their wines and if you're interested in italian wine then well worth a try. I find their list a bit daunting as my knowledge of italian wines is hopeless, but they've always been really happy to help out and have had some great suggestions. Yes, there's some serious (expensive) wine on the list - but you'd pay more elsewhere - and there's reasonably priced and interesting stuff too. You do have to book though...

I have eaten lunch here on numerous occasions and remain very impressed by the quality of the food and the excellent service. It is such a breath of fresh air to have somewhere like this, which comes across as individual, provides friendly service and is reasonably priced. Often just have a selection of small dishes as a meze which is a nice option for lunch....
