After reading the reviews, I was expecting something quite special. After being seated at our table in the downstairs section, no prizes were going to be won for atmosphere here, with white walls and minimal decor, but the hope was the food would be rather special.
The waiter serving us rushed us as if he was on commission and helped spoil what could have been a mediocre Vietmanese meal.
The King Prawn spring rolls were bland, with a sprig of coriander and mint added in an attempt to inject some flavor, whilst the King Prawn Toast was overcooked.
I went for one of the diced chicken dishes which was filling but was basically a bowl of chicken with very little vegetables to add any variety. As soon as we had finished our starters, the main courses arrived with no time to relax or enjoy what we had just eaten.
My girlfriend had asked if the sea bass had bones in it and the waiter had informed us it didn't. No surprises then when the very small portion of sea bass was full of bones.
After the meal, I tried to explain to the waiter that a better standard of customer service would be to slow the service down, rather than rushing the food and attempting to fill our glasses up at every opportunity. As nice as I was trying to tell him this, it wasn't appreciated and apparently it's how they do things there. I won't be going back to this place and wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. I'm still waiting for the Prawn Crackers...
