I am so surprised at all of the reviews I have read. This food is NOT authentic caribbean cuisine.
I actually spoke to one of the partners on the night, in ownership of the restaurant and he informed me that the reason the food does not taste like home cooked caribbean food is because they have to cater to all and most people cannot eat the true hot & spicy flavours of caribbean food! This was quite a disappointing statement to be made by one of the owners!
The jerk chicken did not taste as good as the jerk you would get from your local takeaway, the curry goat was chewy (jamaicans cook the best curry goat I have ever tasted, as the meat melts in your mouth), unfortunately, this was not the case at CC! Escoveitch fish was so disapointing it was tasteless, the peppers that make this dish, just stated slightly of vinegar. The cocktails were not good at all.
At the end of our meal we asked for some liquer coffees, they whipped the double cream and put a great big dollop in the glass and the coffee itself was very cold.
When we told our waiter he said he would replace them, another waiter returned with our coffees, which he said he had stirred it all together and put it in the microwave!! When we told him we did not want it like that, he was very rude to us, told us that's how he makes it, made a gesture with his hand, as if to say I can't be bothered and walked off!!! We could not believe this waiters rudeness. Even though all of the food we had was, quite frankly, pretty awful, we did not complain about any of it, until it came to the coffee. That was the last straw, we had suffered in silence throughtoput the entire meal and that was how the waiter chose to treat us.
The venue itself is siutated in a nice location, the music was good, but unfortunately the food lets the restaurant down immensely.
If you are looking for the true flavours of the caribbean, this is not the place to go.
