Murano

We went to Murano for lunch last Saturday and we had a really nice time. We had a table for two looking into the kitchen which I found very interesting to watch. The pace the chefs were working too was amazing.

My husband went for the set lunch menu with Duck leg lasagna followed by braised beef cheeks and lime cheesecake. I went for the a la carte menu starting with scallops then seabass and then lemon tart AND chocolate souffle which was absolutely WONDERFUL and I could have eaten another one! I went into the kitchen to say thank you to the pastry chef afterwards.

On a par with the food was the level of service we received from Hose, restaurant manager, he is really a class act and looked after us like we were treasured friends.

I love Murano.

Marcus Wareing at the Savoy Grill

I booked the chefs table at The Savoy Grill for my husbands 50th Birthday 19 August lunchtime. We had a fantastic time from start to end.

Where do I start? We began in the bar with champagne and canapes which set the scene. The Maitre d helped me choose the wine to accompany our meal and he was very knowledgeable and no pressure to choose expensive wine.

Then the adventure began. We were escorted downstairs and shown round the kitchen then shown to our table. The table was in air-condioned glass fronted room which looked into the kitchen.

We started with carrot and roast pepper soup which was devine. This was followedby ham hock ballontine, then ravioli filled prawns and lobster with a veloute sauce, then roast cod, then roast beef and yorkshire puds then cheese and then desert which was a trio incorporating almonds, pasionfruit and chocolate.. I don't think I can adequately describe how good the food was, sufice to say there were a lot of empty plates!

Each time we had a new course the chef who had prepared it came in and explained it to us.

I have eaten at other Gordon Ramsay restaurants and this was as good as they were.

The service was excellent., Food wonderful and the memories of the experience will last a lifetime.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay

We had a wonderful meal last night (12-Apr-2007) at this restaurant. The food was plentiful (lots of in-between courses) and wonderfully cooked. The service was sublime and particular mention must be made of Jean-Paul, the maitre'd. He is charming and has the ability to make you feel that you are the most important person in the dining room and as it was my birthday he was right!

We took some friends along with us this time and they felt that it was the best meal that they had eating in London.

For those of you who, like me, look forward to the deserts, I would recommend the Assiette which is the only dish that Gordon brought with him from Aubergine. The variety and tastes are wonderful!

Sardo Canale

We ate at Sardo Canale last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was faultless, ambience good and service good. Only 1 slight moan, our starters and main courses were served to us very quickly and we began to get the feeling we were being hurried. We slowed the pace down by asking for a break before dessert. The place was full with people waiting. Definitely worth a return visit.
