Stingray Cafe

Just got home from a lovely meal at Stingray. Incredible value for money! £5.95 for 3 courses (including a 12 inch pizza). I had the cod from the specials which was cooked to perfection. My b/f had the 3 courses, which included a really nice soup as a starter and a lovely tiramasu for dessert. For a Tuesday night the place was really lively, so I think it must be a hot spot for the people of Tufnell park. The upstairs is smoking and the downstairs non, which is a good divide, much better than when non-smokers have to sit very close to the smokers. Drinks were reasonably priced, with house wine at a tenner a bottle and other drinks at standard bar prices. Overall a really lovely place for a cheap evening out. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant advertises itself as modern european but apart from the specials all of the main courses are pizza or pasta, so maybe the place would be better advertised as italain (but maybe the others in the chain have a wider variety) x

Henry J Beans

just went here for some afternoon drinks yesterday. ordered 2 cocktails which took 10 minutes to come to the table, mainly because the bar staff were chatting to their friends rather than doing any work! cocktails were very mediocre, mine was in a tall glass but only lasted about 2 sips, i know it was supposed to be served over crushed ice but i do think that this was taking the mick! i dont think its worth the money, the place is just boring inside, no atmosphere whatsoever. they do have a happy hour though, which might make the drinks more reasonably priced. overall the place is just dull dull dull....

Bento Cafe

i cant get enough of this place, been twice in the last two weeks. service was fab both times and the food came really quickly. the quality of the sushi is so high, some of the best i've had in london and all the other food i've had there had been divine. really full good menu, perfect for a full meal or a quick snack. the only way i think they could improve is if there was a little more time given between courses, but this may just be because ive been at lunchtimes when people are generally looking for a quick meal, maybe its different in the evenings. if your in camden, definitley go here, its brilliant!!!!!!!!

food was good, drinks were good, service was good. i'd definitley go again but i do think its a bit over priced for what you get, with most the main courses around £10 and the side orders are extortionate. good drinks menu, both for soft drinks and cocktails. i had the vanilla ice cream with chocolate vodka sauce for dessert which was the best thing all evening. even around 5 o'clock on a monday the place was filling up so i'd recommend booking if your're planning on going any later. its a quirky little place but they really could do with knocking a couple of quid of the price of main meals

Little Bay (York Rd)

The 1st time I came here I was thrilled with the place (see review below). However after being this week, I agree with Jenny 100%. The place was so busy we couldn't even reach the seats of the first table we were seated to. 2 tables later, the food was ok, but definitley smaller portions than before and the staff were rushed off their feet. our wine didnt come until after our starters. however I think this wasnt too bad compared to the tables surrounding us; one left without paying, one waited for their desserts for an hour and then got 2 of both, and worst of all 1 couple had waited for 2 hours and not even had their starters (even though they'd asked 5 different waiting staff)! Appauling! I really feel for the poor staff who were really trying their best. The place can be amazing (see earlier review) but dont go at weekends or other busy times!
