My wife and I go out quite a bit and we decided to try Awana for dinner recently. This is probably the most exiting concept I have seen for quite some time and is now my new favourite place. The restaurant was busy that evening and we tried a cocktail at the bar (actually we had 2), they do this amazing hibiscus champagne cocktail that actually has a flower in it. We moved on to a banquette table in the restaurant and had a selection of satay skewers (lamb and cuttlefish are to die for) and Malaysian bread ( very impressive to watch the chef making it from the satay bar). there are a lot of items grilled and the curries are very nice too. I can only hope all desserts are as good as the only one we could tried, the black sticky rice is hard to share. The menu is not so easy to understand but the staff is really helpfull and lovely. They seemed to be advertising Malaysia in the restaurant and it may well have given my wife some ideas about our next holiday.
