Seem to be mixed reviews on this restaurant, but we went last night and loved it.
Big sea food menu (not chi-chi, but full of choice and very well priced).
Shrimp cocktail starter was very fresh, and the oriental fish parcels (less than
£4!) full of good flavour.
The mains of crabcake and haddock (grilled) and fish & chips, again were very fresh and tasty (and my Spanish partner is extremely disparaging about the flavours in English food normally).
Staff was friendly and efficient, and offered an on-the-house digestif after the bill had been paid (and this on our first visit ).
Half the price of Sheekey's and a quarter of the price of Scott's, it's a fish restaurant we will likely be returning to regularly.

I'd love to be able to pass judgment on the food or view at Pont de la Tour, but their terrible service prevented us from even taking our table.
My partner booked a table for 2 this Tuesday at 8pm (my birthday!), directly with the restaurant one week in advance. At 1.45pm on the day of the booking, they rang to cancel our booking. There was no apology, no groveling explanation, no offer to get us in somewhere else fancy, no suggestion of a future booking with a bottle of wine thrown in.
In short, disgraceful, arrogant, behaviour - other readers should think twice about booking a special, or indeed any, occasion here. We will certainly never darken their door.

Have been here on several occasions, post Opera, and have been amazed both times at the standard of service, and also very please with the food.
On the first occasion we arrive 30 minutes late (enough curtain calls, already) at 11pm when the restaurant technically closes. They seated us without raising an eyebrow, and allowed us to choose the long tasting menu, which meant we were the last to leave.
Tasting menu design is nothing particularly special (foie gras, scallops, the usual), but really well executed, perfect portion sizes.
On our second visit, which must have been some months after, the staff remembered us (ok - the initial recognition could have been based on the computer system, but the waiter could name the dishes we ordered, and recall my partner's attire - undone bow tie, very fetching) and made our party of four feel very special.
The atmosphere is great - mixtures of people, celebrating, conspiring, just eating. And since it's not a hyper-hot spot, you can get a reservation at short notice.
P.S. Don't complain about the prices, it's the Savoy Grill, what do you expect?
