Locale (Blackheath)

I visited Loco Locale for the midweek two courses for £13.95 special menu. We arrived quite early and the place was almost empty. Maybe the service suffers when busy but we didn't encounter any problems. The menu is quite limited when going for the 'cheap' option. I went for sardines to start and parma ham and asparagus tagletelli which were both good. The sardines tasted really fresh and the tagletelli was generous with its ingredients. The offer also included a glass of house wine. Obviously can't comment on the a la carte menu, but considering it is now about £13 for a roast in nearby pubs, 2 courses of decent grub and a glass of wine for under £14 seemed excellent value. The venue itself was quite hangar-like, and there was (quiet funk) music playing when we were there, which may not be to everyone's taste.
