Annex 3
I came here with my partner for Valentine's day, our friend, who manages the sister restaurant of here had phoned ahead as a surprise and organized champagne for our table. It didn't show. Similarly, there seemed to have been some problem getting a table (being Valentine's perhaps not surprising) but when we arrived, the place was only half full. The menu was particularly uninspiring, with your regular modern French stuff reeled out with no originality or flair, and no japanese twist as advertised. The decor was kooky, but not finished to a particularly high standard and my partner's chair was terribly uncomfortable. Toilets tacky. All in all, there are better places to spend your cash - more fun and better value for money.

Hakkasan
Yes it's pricy, yes you can get dim sum elsewhere, but nevertheless I'd highly recommend Hakkasan. The atmosphere is wonderfully seductive and the decor (including the toilets) is sublime. If you wanted to, you could avoid the £25-£70 main courses and come away without your wallet smarting quite so much, there's plenty around the £12-£20, but that's not really why you're there. I loved the dim sum.

OQO
A little disappointing. Basically the menu wasn't that interesting and when the dishes arrived they didn't even live up to this. The service was friendly, cocktails very good and the toilets swanky, but I'd recommend that you go for a drink and a bar snack rather than the full meal option.

La Porchetta (Finsbury Park)
Always enjoyable and reliable and great value for money with enormous portions. Friendly staff and tasty pizzas. The tray banging and singing for the six birthdays a night can get a little hard on the head, as can the EuroPop, but that's all part of the fun, as are the occaisional dough fights and chair dancing.
