I went to Galvin last week with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. I have to say the whole experience was spot-on.
In contrast to what others have said, I found the reservations service courteous and helpful.
The waiting staff were friendly and polite which complemented the Bistro, rather than formal, style.
I started with the endives and roquefort salad which was gorgeous, pork with prunes for main and parfait to finish. All of them were really nicely done and good portion sizes. I felt well-fed but not overly so.
The bill came to around £105 for the two of us for 3 courses (a la carte), a couple of glasses of champers, wine and coffee. It's more than we'd normally spend on a meal out but both of us agreed it had been such a good experience and lovely food that we'd happily return on a special occasion.
I find it hard to think of how it could have been improved and I only wish there were a few more Galvins out there.

Food 9 | Service 9 | Atmosphere 8 | Value for money 8
This was actually the 4th time I'd been to Boulevard - previous meals had been great.
Was really really disappointed by my trip there at the weekend though. For goodness sake don't end up in the downstairs bit - it's like a different restaurant. Zero ambience, lousy decor and the music is too loud for a restaurant.
Of my party of 6 pretty much everyone liked their food (we had the 3 courses for £15 deal), although I'm told the salmon was a bit underdone.
Service was a different matter. Our waiter managed to forget our complimentary champagne, our wine and then our side dishes - ALL OF THEM! He was utterly clueless...
It was still good value compared to the majority of restaurants you'd find in the tourist trap that is Covent Garden. However, I'd recommend avoiding busier times and definitely specify you want an upstairs table.
