Clos Maggiore

I have eaten here twice now (over 2 years) and will be booking again to eat here soon for my sister's forthcoming birthday. For me it really is somewhere I like to take people for special ocassions as it is a lovely restaurant which serves incredible food. The service I received on both ocassions was impeccable. On my second visit I asked for us to be sat in the conservatory and whilst they could not promise anything at the time of booking (as I had booked for a large group) we were indeed given a table in the conservatory. The waiters and waitresses were nothing but polite and helpful and they really put us all at ease (if I am honest I cannot afford to eat at such lovely restaurants regularly!) and we all enjoyed the experience of eating there. The food was 1st class as was the wine (the wine list is incredible to see in itself!) and I would thoroughly recommend taking your friends and family here for a special meal. It has always gone down well for me! The decor is beautiful (as I said I prefer sitting in the conservatory where the blossom from the tree is) and you are not rushed; you are made to feel very welcome. Thank you to the staff there!

Pasha

I had wanted to come here for a long time so was really looking forward to our night out at Pasha. My boyfriend and I went for a Valentines meal (a week late) and had a lovely evening.

The staff were lovely, very approachable and attentive. They knew their stuff and were very helpful over our menu choices.

The food was definitly the best thing about Pasha. It was excellent, very tasty and in very good sized portions. Between us we had houmous and lamb sausages to start, and then the lamb and chicken tagines with couscous for our mains. It was delicious and good to pick at each others (as suggested by our waitress). With our wine and some ice cream to share our bill came to about £85 and it was well worth it.

The atmosphere in Pasha is definitly unique and this added further to our evening. The decor is lovely and I loved the belly dancers (which came on at about 9.30ish). The only thing is the fact that the music was really loud towards the end which is hard when you'r trying to talk.

Nevertheless, Pasha is a restaurant I would highly recommend and I will definitly be returning.

Babylon at The Roof Gardens

I visited the Babylon roof gardens on a Sunday for lunch with two friends. It was one of my friend's birthday so I wanted to go somewhere nice. We were not disappointed!

The restaurant itself was laid out very nicely and the views are excellent across London. The service was very good and the waitresses and waiters were all very friendly. There was even an entertainer (a magician when we went) who comes to your table. He was not intrusive at all and was very funny.

For lunch we had the 3 courses for £21 and each of us enjoyed our meals immensely. Between us we had the Creamy potato soup morels, with leek foam which was really light and tasty, and the Lemon & herb crusted organic goat’s cheese red chard & broad bean salad, sumac dressing for starters. For mains we all had Roast beef rib eye fondant potato, French beans, Burgundy jus & garnish, which was lovely. We were given lots of beef and the potato was really creamy. Then for dessert we had the Baked apple strudel with calvados ice cream, brandy snap, and anglaise sauce; the Pistachio crème brulee with kirsch marinated cherries and biscotti; and the White & dark chocolate parfait chocolate shortbread & berry compote. Each of our desserts were absolutely delicious.

The food, service and entertainment were wonderful and I would definitly recommend this restaurant. I would definitly return, and would be happy to take both family and friends to Babylon. Needless to say both of the friends I took were impressed and my friend had a lovely birthday!

Terra

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant purely on what people had said about it on this website and the fact it was in the top ten for value. We were not disappointed. The service was the best thing about the restaurant really. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and you were really looked after. The food was lovely too; generous portions and a wide variety. The atmosphere was very warm and we would definitly go back. The place seemed to suit couples and groups alike and I highly recommend Terra!
