Terra

Absolute madness that this is in the top 10 with the likes of Petrus and Chez Bruce. It is a perfectly reasonable, cheap and cheerful neighbourhood restaurant but that really is as far as it goes.

I can only imagine that the people giving this restaurant top marks are so dazzled by the rock bottom prices that they lose all sense of perspective!

Fino

I agree with the other reviewers - this restaurant is overpriced. I went with a friend for lunch, she wasn't drinking and I had one glass of wine and still the bill came in at £100.

The food had some high points (delicious sardines and good bread, cheese and olive oil) but was not consistent (squid was tough (from the freezer?), undercooked tortilla, dull patatas bravas).

Service was pleasant enough but the room is quite featureless and we were sitting next to some dreadfully loud mobile phone addicts, which didn't help.

An expensive disappointment.

Terra

I agree with the previous review by BG - while this is a reasonable cheap and cheeful neighbourhood restaurant I don't think it's really deserving of the praise heaped upon it by previous reviewers.

The food is perfectly adequate and the service friendly, but nothing that you wouldn't find in any bog-standard restaurant in any town.

I suppose for the area it is cheap but you get what you pay for!

Quaglino's

I love Quaglinos - the food is never going to set the world on fire, but is of a really high standard and, along with the wine, very reasonably priced.

The room is beautiful, the bar (with live music most nights) is fun and service is adequate to good.

Overall a really enjoyable restaurant.

O's Thai Cafe

The food at O's is absolutely delicious - we eat there about once a month and the standard is always high.

The service is friendly and the prices very reasonable - the restaurant is a little small and can get noisy but that's because the food is so good!

Tas (Borough High St)

Cheap and cheerful and fun with it - the night we were there there was a live guitarist.

Good meze and service with a smile.

Galvin

Went to Galvin on Friday night with a group of friends and loved it.

The restaurant looks like a French neighbourhood bistro and is lively and welcoming.

Service was friendly but unobtrusive and the food delicious and reasonably priced - I also had the pasta main course mentioned below, but loved every mouthful, though I do agree that of all the mains it was on the meagre side.

Wonderful cheese to finish and the best tart au citron that any of us had ever eaten - to die for.

Overall a really enjoyable experience.
