Cafe Japan

Having heard all the great reviews about this restaurant I was greatly disappointed. Although the service was plesant- the waitresses and chefs friendly and welcoming, the food was just wrong. I have been to a whole range of Japanese restaurants from the cheap to expensive and I was expecting something fantastic. We ordered the inside out rolls which were badly made and fell apart when picked up- a sign of the less able sushi chef. The chicken karrage was extremely salty and too greasy and the presentation was poor- bits of salad chucked on the side as a desperate attempt. Now I realise this is a value restaurant but having read other reviews I truly was expecting far greater everything. In their defence, the age tofu was delicious but that was about it. It is a shame as the people are so lovely but people don't make a restaurant- I will never go back again, honestly, it isn't worth the rave and hype.
