Went here for Sunday lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. My friend chose the place following good reviews in the press.
The menu leans heavily towards offal and rich dishes. I had lambs heart stuffed with lemon and parsley. It was a flavoursome dish and something I had never eaten before. The colour scheme is muted browns which creates a calm, light and airy space. This is a real find in the heart of Soho and great value with a set menu of £15.50 for 3 courses.

This is quite simply one of the best places on Upper Street. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a fabulous evening on bank holiday Monday. The service here is always courteous and effcient. We shared three perfect starters and three mains - soft shell crab and mango salad, halibut in lime and chilli dressing, and chicken with aubergine. It is great that brown rice is offered which is something I wish more places did.
My only minor criticism is that they offer a take-away service. This is slightly irritating when seated close to the bar area.
Overall this place is good value for the quality of food and service. Our bill was about £85.00 including one bottle of wine and two glaases of dessert wine

I called Tuesday lunchtime and got a great spot in the bar area at 6.15 that evening which was perfect as my friend and I had tickets for the theatre - Embers at The Duke of Yorks on St Martins Lane (5 mins walk from the Ivy). I've been to Ivy several times however have never eaten in the bar area. It's great for a pre theatre bite. I enjoyed the asparagus and prawn salad - perfectly prepared and presented - spot on. My friend loved her bang bang chicken. Polite and efficient service as always. I love this place.
