The Albion

I have been to this place about half a dozen times over the last year. The first time before it was refurbished - it used to look a bit like a slug n lettuce but you knew it had potential. Now it's been refurbed the decor inside is not overly fancy - it's simple and sympathetic to a building that must be 150 years+. However, if you saw the garden before and after then you will understand how wicked the re-design really is. The garden is huge and just beautiful.

Recently the service has been much improved.

The menu is English - proper english, gastropub in style and really really good food.

Tapas Brindisa

I absolutely adore this place. I have eaten there quite a few times now and every dish was superb. I did find it a little expensive first time round but to be honest that was probably our choice of wine. The food was definitley worth every penny. The staff have always been very friendly despite the volume of people they have to deal with. If anything they are a teeny bit over-attentive, but you can understand that it is after all a tapas bar and as such is supposed to turn tables quickly not have us ladies doing 3 hours lunches!

Zigfrid

they changed their menu in september and i had some of the best oysters ever there. they still have that fab burger on the menu but i had the bowl of house chili which was yummy and only cost £5! the service was actually ok. the waitress should have asked us if we wanted to taste our 2nd bottle of wine but apart from that she was friendly and helpful.
