Orford Saloon Tapas Bar

I moved to Walthamstow in January and have been basking in the delights of the village ever since, but the Orford Saloon really takes the restaurant prize for me. The tapas on offer is some of the most delicious I've ever had; the paella, in particular, is just breathtaking and the prawns defy belief. On top of the food being superb, the staff are really friendly without being obsequious and the wines on offer are all complementary to the food. I also like the opportunity to have a couple of pints of draft Cruzcampo - a rare treat in London.

My wife and I have been back here several times since opening and have vowed to become regular visitors. Only one complaint: it's too small! On one Friday evening visit, at least a dozen people were turned away not having booked. So, some good advice is to make an early reservation if you're planning a visit, as if you just turn up you'll probably be disappointed.
