I am afraid I have to agree with some other diners further down the review list - I had a dreadful experience here. I had been to the bar before for a drink, thought the courtyard looked nice and made a mental note to return for lunch, as I did on Saturday. Firstly, the welcome wasn't very warm. I should have realised it was a taste of what was to come. There were a couple of spare tables, one with four places set up and I asked if we could sit there as there were a few tables free, and it was in a nice position. (I even offered to move if a table of 4 should arrive!) The answer was categorically 'No', and my friend and I were offered a cramped table for two. We both ordered salads - mine a goats cheese, my friends a spinach, avocado and bacon. When they arrived I thought they had confused our orders for side salads. For a £10 salad there was half a pack of spinach leaves, 3 slices of avocado and a small sprinkling of bacon bits. My salad wasn't dressed, on it's last legs, and again, the size of a side salad. When I commented on this I was told (by the Manager) that they 'had never had a complaint before.' !! She offered to deduct the 12.5% (optional) service charge and brushed me off as if she couldn't care less. Dreadful. Forget Hush, go to Joe's cafe in Fenwick's instead. We went there a little later in the day (as we were starving) and although the dishes average the same price, had salads that were simply gorgeous, plentiful and served with a smile.
