Sancho Panza

Wow, this is truly boring and bog standard tapas.

OK I've spoilt myself with others. but after all that whatever the price tag Sancho Panza is so underwhelming.

It's not bad, it's edible but just very predictable with no life or taste to it all. It's a mush of flavours and textures.

Shame because it's a nice place and location.

Overall the food is wonderfully cooked but the portions are too small.

Loved the varied, interesting but not overwhelming menu.

Service was attentive and friendly.

But it's not cheap and I went away hungry which knocks down the value for money.

An enjoyable experience but if you've got an appetite then think twice.

Ooze Risotteria

Starters were small and unecessarily wierd e.g. clotted cream bruschetta.

Risottos were indeed the best thing but not good enough for me to go back.

Service was very good.

Ooze isn't that bad but you feel a bit bitter spending your of cash on such a mediocre experience.

The Ebury

In the dining room on a Thursday.

Lovely, calm room accompanied by some jazz.

The menu is inviting but the results were average.

Seafood tortelloni was tasty but served cool. Several dishes tasted were overly salty e.g. risotto, mash.

Portions were quite tight e.g. lentils with cod could be counted and the cod itself was small.

Chips as a side were lovely though and plentiful easily does 2 or 3 people.

There are extra's e.g. after starter a nice shot of celeriac and something else was spotted pre dessert.

Service leaves nothing to be desired, kind, welcoming and informative.

Not great value, £40 each for starter, main, glass of wine and water.

The brasserie downstairs is quite buzzy and so maybe more interesting if the quieter meal isn't for you.

There are lots of decent Japanese restaurants in and around soho and this is certainly one of them.

This sticks out because due to it's location it's a actually a little forgotten by people and so you can always get a table, the service is very efficent unlike others and there is a great ease about the place due to the hustle and bustle elsewhere in the building.

The food is top notch and so not cheap but certainly not exhorbitant.

As a regular I would heartedly recommend Toku.

May I also recommend the great value take away sushi in the supermarket downstairs.

Locanda Locatelli

I think for that special meal and treatment there are better places.

There is a certain unfussiness, but for me eating at a top end restaurant is a treat and I want it to be treated this way. Locanda squeeze an extra sitting in the evening and there was a greater sense of being processed.

The food is obviously very good and very much true to its orgins but again for top end prices the menu is very conservative and traditional and there isn't the range of flavours.

A very good meal but not the same experience and value as offered elsewhere in London.

Busaba Eathai (Wardour St)

If you are pressed for time then this is the place. Quick, tasty and very good value.

Service will press you to order and move on so if looking to truly savour your food try somewhere else.

Queues form outside from >6:30pm, I have absolutely no idea why because although it is decent it is not worth queuing for

Anchor & Hope

Eaten here several but never in restaurant always packed so happy to eat in the bar area.

Food is decent and the small menu interesting enough.

Bar staff are always great, the Scottish guy who's been there a while absolutely knows his stuff (still there?).

Go and enjoy a decent meal.
