Tumnan Thai

I am so gutted I no longer live anywhere near this gorgeous place, I miss their food SO much. Stunning restaurant, stunning food and absolutely lovely staff. Always very quick on takeaway too. GO GO GO!

Bumpkin (Notting Hill)

Far too pricey for food that is so very average. Nice looking place and the service is very chummy but really, I couldn't see the point of returning when there are far more superior places for us to eat. My mussels were particularly disappointing as the marinere sauce was essentially totally flavorless cream. Plus I have had a better steak in a Wetherspoons. Need to up their game.

The Thomas Cubitt

As I live locally, this pub has often been a lovely place for an very good bite of decent English food. Things have been rapidly heading downhill of late and tonight particularly was a disaster. We waited an age for our pre-food cocktails, then ages to order - the special was also off before busy Saturday night service which did not impress. When our wine finally arrived, after having to ask 3 times, it was then whisked away as it was one that had been used to sell by the glass behind the bar. What ensued then was a wait while another one was retrieved from the cellar and although we were ensured the cellar was indeed refrigerated, it was of course luke warm wine that arrived. During the wait another totally wrong bottle of wine was also offered to our table. Some other useless person eventually went to get more ice to chill our correct warm wine in the bucket - all i can say is the quantity provided would not have been enough for an ant igloo. Ridiculous! When the food eventually arrived we were missing salt and pepper, bread for one diner's soup and an order of fries. This we had to ask for but in fairness, the response was quick. Food, ok. Nothing compared to the original high standards that used to be the norm here, although I can highly recommend the chicken liver parfait - highlight of a very drab evening. Add to this the incessant and deafening use of a blender crushing ice behind the bar, music that creeps up and doesn't suit this kind of place and plenty other tables we saw waiting far too long/receiving the wrong orders and I think you have my case for not returning here ever again. Shame.

Made a very happy return here last night and what a delight it was! I was always a fan but, as many did, I had serious gripes with the service. They have clearly been paying attention to sites such as this and listening to their customers as the service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick. We came in late with no booking and only waited 5 minutes to be seated in which time we were offered some of their delicious cocktails - try the Naama Bay.

Food was the best meal I've had in there and this must have been my 5th visit.

Well done Yauatcha, you've upped your game and it shows! (Do keep an eye on your prices tho - are they creeping up???)

Shish (Old Street)

Never eaten in but always used to grab a takeaway shish for lunch as they were SO delcious. Freshly cooked in front of you, very fresh ingredients and excellent fruit juices. Highly recommended.

I love this place for Sunday brunch and always sit at the bar, which I think offers the best service and also the best view on all the Italian theatre this place is known for. Order the Veal Milanese, a glass of bubbles and enjoy...

Royal Dragon

went here with a party of 24 for a karoke and feast-on-chinese night. was not disappointed. had a private room which fitted us all comfortably, food was delicious, excellent value and the staff were lovely. karoke screen was enormous too with some particularly amusing choices on there. would recommend to everyone.

Great decor, great atmosphere and well managed music is delicious and menu comforting, varied and, on the night we were there, all delicious. My roasted cod was cooked to perfection with lovely crispy skin and sweet-as-you-like roasted vine tomatoes. Other diners munched on burgers and steaks and it was pretty hard to get a word out of them until all had disappeared. Mountains of chips were however left behind - portions are more than generous (which is no bad thing in my eye). Only complaint is the service. I know it's hectic, I know it's Soho, but on more than one occasion i was left standing waiting for waiters to move out of my way whilst they stood arguing over something or other. Not a good look. Our waiter, although nice enough, made no real effort which, when 12.5% is added on at the end, leaves you with a slight nasty taste in your mouth. Which is a shame as the food left only yumminess.

La Poule au Pot

Returned to LPAP last night for the 5/6th time and was just as charmed as my first visit. The foie gras terrine was stunning and my veal a la creme was so naughty but so, so worth it. Service was charming and cocky at the same time, which in my eyes is a fab combination as you can always have a laugh with the sexy French boys. The decor has not changed and nor should it - incredibly rustic, cosy and romantic - just a shame I was having dinner with my father!!! ;)

Ken Lo's Memories of China

I've been going here for years and i've always loved it. The staff are adorable, efficient and always remember you; the re-fit it had a few years back is tasteful and pleasant to eat in and the food is always delicious....what's not to like? (ok, maybe the prices).

Gazette (Battersea)

To say we were dubious would be an understatement- SO off the beaten track and part of a purpose built block of flats....hmmm....

HOW WRONG WE WERE. The decor is stylish and just lovely, the staff are delightful but the food absolutely blew us away. Please people go here NOW. The steak the other half had barely needed cutting/chewing, as well as being cooked to perfection, and my roast chicken (not something i normally have) rocked my world- juicy and tasty served with perfect mash and lovely sides- on the menu at the bargain price of £2 each :)

I couldn't recommend it more.....
