L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon

My friend has been to the Paris version which he loved, so 4 of us headed to the new London restaurant for lunch today, just after it opened. We were greeted with superb complimentary 'opening week' champagne and very friendly, keen service.

The food was excellent, although miniscule portions at not insignificant prices (on the a la carte menu). The service is superb and was only let down by a huge delay for coffee. The interior is very cool and stylish and I imagine has a great atmosphere in the evening.

We dined in the informal ground floor rebuchon(studio), so I cannot comment on the restaurant; although I am sure it is impressive, but expensive.

We had a set meal, which included gizpacho, egg coccote, a choice of cod or lamb and a choice of 2 desserts. This was a reasonable £30, although the lamb incurred a £9 surcharge for 3 mouthfuls of meat.

Overall it was a very good experience and I would certainly recommend this restaurant for quality food in a laid back, chic environment.
