Le QuecumBar

We went for a friends birthday - and had a dreadful evening. The service on its own was of indifferent quality, but the attitude of the owner has ensured that neither I nor anyone whom I have influence over will ever cross the threshold again. We waited for more than two hours for our main courses, and we were informed in a highly discourteous fashion that if we were in a hurry, we should have informed them on arrival, and that an hour and a quarter was a normal and reasonable time to wait between starter and main! Instead of being remotely apologetic, the proprietress was rude and tried to make me feel as if I was being really mercenary by complaining. She eventually and with very bad grace agreed to give us a free bottle of wine – which then never arrived, but was on our bill. DO NOT EAT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT - they say food is not their main focus - I don't know why they bother serving any at all. The starters were of mediocre quality at best and the beef bourguignon was unpalatable and overpowered by the whole handful of bay leaves - most of which ended up in one of my companions dinner – which the owner informed us was ‘the way that dish is made’ – not in any recipes I have seen. When attempting to get the disgusting flavour out of my mouth I was informed that they did not serve tap water – that can’t be legal. A most unsatisfactory evening – don’t waste your time.
