not sure if it was someone elses opinion or if this place is actually owned by pizza express. either way it is essentially posh pizza express. its like going to the cinema & getting the vip tickets, you are getting the same product just in nicer surroundings. food was dependable pizza express fare, we both had pizzas & dough balls & i had the scallops in bacon which at £8.20 for 3 felt like seafood robbery. the surroundings however were very 'establishment' type luxury & we had a prime spot at the foot of the grand piano played by a tiny little man with huge glasses who mustve been in his eighties but could certainly tickle the ivories. pleasant experience if a little pricey

went with my girlfriend & her dad & given its seriously conspicuous front would never have come across it otherwise. clearly has a following since it was very busy for a tuesday but it was maybe slightly above average at best. was quite surprised to receive pate when had ordered chopped chickens liver but was so hungry that i took what i was given. pate is pate not much to say there. the main course was very nice however italian sausages with butternut squash & caramelised apple. had lemon meringue to finish but more like a mousse than a meringue so like the starter a little disappointing. while main was very nice, what was basically posh sausage and mash was a bit pricey for 11.50 as was my girlfriends average & very thin steak for £17.
