Fire & Stone

We went to F&S last Friday for my boyfriend's birthday meal. We didn't have a booking but were prepared to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait.... This was really poor as we'd been shuffled into the 'bar' area for drinks and then were gently asked to be penned up in the 'holding area' by the side of the stairs. After a wee while or two - spent mostly trying to ask the front of desk staff when we were going to be eating - we were finally seated after spending most of the time drinking a few gin and tonics and no less than two bottles of wine in our wait (there were four of us). Once seated in the area by the downstairs loo, we had to be asked to be moved to a more comfortable (and vacant) seating area. Enough of the pre-dinner experience - for starters we had the Mediterranean platter and the mini smoked salmon pizza were nice (not fantastic but ok) and the pizzas on the menu were a bit random - thai green curry on a pizza?? WRONG. Overall a poor experience and not worth queuing for.
