C & R Cafe Restaurant
This is truly an amazing and humble little cafe hidden in an alley called Rupert Court, right in the heart of Chinatown in London. Every meal at C&R brings back fond memories of when I'm back in Malaysia, from the setting of the cafe, waiters & waitresses who "don't seem to care but they actually do" kind-of attitude, loud clinkering of utensils, and customers talking loud in the background - all typical of a cafe in Malaysia. The food so far, is fantastic and as a born and bred Malaysian, I vouch by the authenticity of the taste. I love the Kampung Style Nasi Goreng (spicy fried rice) - it even comes with a fried egg and crispy anchovies, simply mouth-watering! Wat Tan Ho (slightly fried ho-fun covered in tasty egg sauce and seafood)and C&R Rice Cake are also very tasty and absolutely worth trying. What can I say - the price? Very reasonable for the generous portion that you get. Drinks, try teh-tarik (Malaysian style milk-shake tea) or kopi-tarik (Malaysian style milk-shake coffee), you won't go wrong. I would suggest sharing a dish with a friend, otherwise you might end up with a doggie bag or as how Malaysians would put it, 'Tapau please!'
