Tootsies (Belsize Park)

I shivered my way through lunch last Sunday. Every time the waiting staff opened (and left open) the door to the front terrace the draft whipped across me. Worse, the food was very average. My fishcakes looked and tasted like they had been reheated. What a dingy experience

The Gay Hussar

Bland food, indifferent service, why this place survives is beyond me. The goulash I had was fine, but it's the kind of dish you'd be pleased to get in the canteen at work, not in a restaurant in Soho.

Gaucho (Hampstead)

Have been to the Gaucho 3 times this year, most recently last week. Every time the food, in particular the steak has been fantastic. They also have an amazing selection of Argentinian wine. The only downside is that it does get busy in the evenngs so that some waiting to get seated can happen.

L'Autre Pied Restaurant

I had an early dinner with some colleagues. We were well looked after. I had read that portions were small but after 3 courses non of us felt underfed. The dishes themselves were superbly construted with a great mix of favours and textures. I'll definitely go back.
