Ping Pong (Soho)

4 of us went on a Sunday night expecting it to me reasonably quiet, but we got there and told we we would need to wait for a table. Which would be fine, except the waitress was unable to give us an indication at all as to how long it would take. As it was pouring with rain we decided to stay. It took about 10 minutes at a (quiet) bar before we were asked for our drinks orders, and we probably waited for about 25 minutes to get a table. This despite the fact that downstairs area was open and had numerous available tables. A family group next to us at the bar were remonstrating with the waitress as one woman was heavily pregnant and should not be asked to purch on a bar stool, and the waitress was still refusing to seat them. Eventually we were shown to a table in the back corner, next to which was another empty table. After 5 minutes sat next to this empty table one of my party went up to the family group (still waiting for a table at the bar) and pointed out the free table to them. For this he was given an extremely dirty look by one on of the bar tables and the family group were quickly whisked away to a different corner.

The service is appalling, our drinks were left waiting on the side of the bar for 15 minutes, and we only received them once we had managed to flag down a waiter and asked them to bring them over for us. A request for a soy sauce refil resulted in the jug being taken away, never to be seen again.

The food was good, and reasonably authentic, but I wouldn't go back again - life is too short.
