El Faro

I'm afraid I too am going to have to go against the grain. First off the service, we were seated for a good 15 minutes before we were even offered a drink and another 15 before our food order was taken. It was a Monday night and the restaurant wasn't especially busy. Generally we felt the food didn't live up to the reviews or menu descriptions. I started with flat bread with oven-roasted vegetables and anchovies which were delicious but others were disappointed in the marinated tuna and the Andalusian style squid. For my main I had the Bacalao a la Llauna made with fresh Irish Sea cod. It was served tepid on a cold plate and tasted of little more than the oil it had been cooked in, I would have sent it back but Iím not sure what they could have done to redeem it. Others tried the oven roasted suckling pig, the entrecote, the grilled Tuna and the fillet-steak but no one was especially impressed. Maybe Iím spoiled because Moro is my local Spanish restaurant but I promise you it knocks the spots of this place for food and service. We drank the 2005 Manga de Brujo which I can heartily recommend
