Fun, kitsch venue and atmosphere with food that is a cut above, entirely ruined by some of the worst service I have ever encountered.
The permanently hovering waiting staff are amateurish and rude. Each time (three in all) we sent back the wrong dishes and drinks we were treated with surly suspicion (even though one of the wrong main courses was delivered after out plates had been cleared away and we were looking at the dessert menu).
Ordering a cocktail proved just too much and after four attempts we gave up (although not before being interrogated to point out exactly who we had tried to order the drinks from).
Far from being sheepish about the errors, the waiting staff seemed utterly indifferent to the experience their customers were having. Indeed, they even tried to charge us for one of the imaginary orders they delivered and took away.
Advice would be to check your bill carefully, ask for the 15% service charge the restaurant gratefully awards itself to be removed and leave as little as you feel inclined. Better still, recognise Cocoon as a restaurant in terminal decline and avoid it.
