Brasserie Roux
Visited early evening before a show and had the 'weekly' set menu. The boudain blanc with parsnip puree was excellent, celery soup was OK and surprisingly mushroomy. Pheasant was perfectly cooked with very flavoursome red cabbage. Salmon also good. Lemon tart was sublime! The combination of crisp, burnt caramel, oozing lemon filling and perfect pastry had me gesticulating embarassingly.
Complaints were not food related. We were given a bad table, squashed next to two other patrons, closer than we were to each other and right next to the till, despite a fairly empty restaurant. The atmosphere is stuffy, the waiters attentive.
