Delicious food and good value. Went here for a pre-theatre dinner and was impressed by the dishes on offer for the £17.50 3-course set meal. The food was simple and hearty and cooked perfectly (we had the rabbit which I would recommend), and the service was really friendly. Another plus was the small but well chosen wine list which was available by the carafe (another plus if you're dining pre-theatre and don't have time for a whole bottle). We had a really good meal and it didn't leave a dent on the wallet either. Very deserving of the Michelin star!

Chennai Dosa (353 High St North)

The name of this place doesn't lie, Chennai Dosai are real specialists - there are about 20 different dosas you can try, including a 6-foot wide family dosa!!! I wanted to try this place because it's always packed.

I started off with a scrumptious chilli fried idli, gobi manchurian, crispy pooris and a perfect butter naan. The masala dosa was perfectly thin and crispy the way it should be (not like some places I've tried). I topped it all off with a excellent falooda for dessert. The staff were really friendly and attentive, and for such great food the price was amazing value. It's a busy diner kind of setting so a great place to bring friends and family. I'm already planning to come back this weekend!!!

Good Sri Lankan and South Indian food at a really reasonable price. The lamb samosa starters were crispy and fresh, and for the main we tried the mutton curry which was tender and well-spiced, and the Sri Lankan-style egg dosai which was delicious and came with very tasty chutney and sambhar. The vegetable curries (spinach and okra) were subtle and a good accompaniment to the rest of the meal. The whole meal including a cup of spicey masala tea came to under £15 making this the best value meal I've had so far in London.
