The Fish Shop

I had heard great things about the Fish Shop and was really looking forward to eating some high quality, excellently cooked Fish.

I was incredibly disappointed. After waiting 15 minutes to be asked if we would like a drink, the service continued to be patchy throughout the evening.

The potted shrimps were 'unpotted' and pretty average, as was the calamari. The swordfish steak was overcooked and ruined and came with a 'fry-up' style tomato. To then have to spend £3.50 for veg and £3.50 for potatoes on top of the main dish meant value for money was low. A spoonful of lumpy mash potato was really not worth £4. A main course with sides, which you would normally expect to come with the dish, came to approximatly £25.

When paying, without desert, we removed the service charge only to be challenged by the waitress who demanded whether there was something wrong with the service.

The point is, people don't mind spending that amount of money on a meal if the food is equisite and really worth it. However, to spend that much on overcooked fish, in a restaurant with that name, is just unacceptable.

Spread the word and avoid it like the plague!
