Cafe Rialto

Went to this resturant on Friday 13th Feb after walking up the Fulham Road. Arrived at around 20:30 on a Friday night without pre booking... Yes there were a few seats available. Mind you a lot of the restaurents we passed on the road had no one in them at all., or had closed... the credit crunch is certainly biting down the Fulham Road

A couple of Bruschettas, and nicely fluffy bread for starters helped set us up for the main meal of a nicely done pizza with everything on it, and spag bol with chilli.

Both meals were fine, no conplaints there...

The staff were friendly, not fussy, and not intrussive.. and the price was fine...

Overall a nice little Italian, service fine, food ok, and not expensive..

Chutney Mary

I went here on Thursday 5th Jul 08. This was the Indian that I always wanted to try, as I've passed it by many times. At the end of the evening, I must say that the food was lovely, and the service was excellent. I'll be back here again, if my wallet allows, yes it is a bit pricey

Carluccio's (South Kensington)

I went here on Sat 5th Jul at around 8 oclock in the evening. The place seemed very busy, with lots of different types of people in the restaurant. I hadn't booked, but just turned up, and was found a space for two very quickly.

The service was pleasant enough, and the starters tasted fine, the tin bread basket was nice. The main meals came out, and I ordered penne with a sauce, and a side saled.

I have to say that there was hardly any sauce on the pasta, and the side salad (2.50) consisted of a chopped tomato, and a 1/4 chopped onion. My friend had the pork chops, which were ok, maybe a little underdone, nothing special.

I did actually moan about the size of the salad and the sauce on the pasta, and the manager then came across and spoke to us. We put our point politely, and the manager took the price of my meal, and the salad off our bill.

I was very pleasantly surprised that we got the price reduced, and glad we did as the fodd wasn't really very good, perhaps they had a new chef in that night, or a stand in chef, that I dont know

Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's

I went here for the first time on Friday 19th Jan with a friend, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

I went into the bar before hand for a drink and to study the menu. First thing I noticed were lots of fish dishes on the menu... I dislike fish... anyway I made my choice, drank my drink, and went through into the dining room, where we were seated in the middle of the room.

It was good to see that the distance between the next tables were a good way away, so you can talk privately, and no one could really interupt you with their noisy annoying chatter.

The service was first class, I enjoyed the waiters coming up every so often to top up your water or wine glass. The wait between each course was fine and helped the earlier course go down.

Each dish was presented very nicely and the waitress also explained the dish on serving.

I can imagine some people having a heart attack when they see the portions that are provided, but to me each portion was just right, and of top quality. My main dish was Venison, and it really was very good.

I choose the cheese board for my sweet, and what a selection they have on offer. I must of spent at least five minutes with the waiter going through the selection on offer before making my choice.

I certainly enjoyed eating at the restaurant, and would certainly go back again. The food and service was very good.
