Ramen Seto

Absolutely the best Japanese restaurant in central London. I don't think you can find a better place which does such delicious salmon/ tuna don, complete with warm miso soup and generous servings of wasabi and radish. The price you pay for most of the dishes, and the don sets in particular, are really good value for money.

My partner and I recently also tried out the pork gyoza - terrific. The texture was brilliant and the fillings again generous.

The deco is simple, the waitresses are efficient. In sum this restaurant is a little, unpretentious place for people who want to enjoy a good meal without paying ridiculous prices.

Went there on a weekday for dim sum. Staff were unfriendly and not too charming. Other Chinese restaurants we've been to in Chinatown have given more attentive service, and bothered to smile.

The dim sum menu had good variety, and my partner particularly liked the beef belly dish. The dim sums were tasty overall, but did not supersede those at other restaurants either. The rice puddings were on the salty side, and after awhile one gets the impression that they add in the same salt and pepper to most of their dishes. Result - uniformity in taste.

Plus side was the chee cheong fun which were actually very delicious and perhaps the best we've tried so far in Chinatown. The prices were decent too.

My partner and I went there on a Thursday evening. The reviews were right about the minimal decor, but not as accurate about the food. We were slightly disappointed with the food - the curries weren't very tasty (other restaurants to it more subtly) and the food was nothing extraordinary. All in all still quite pricey for what one gets. A good place though if you are unfussy about decor and a plus for the restaurant is the staff.
