Mantra Contemporary Indian Dining

I so much wanted this place to be great, as its quite close by. The decor is interesting, a real change for an Indian, and very contemporary. The service was odd, in that when we booked the manager was concerned we got there early for lunch as they close at three, then was really slow at taking the order etc. Then there was a lot of shifting plates and cutlery about, but without much progress.

We had a cauliflower dish, which arrived looking like sweet and sour pork balls, or barbecued bits of chicken. Which was kind of odd, and slightly disconcerting. A lot of the dishes seem Chinese influenced soy, honey etc.

The lamb chops were coated in a rather powdery, pastey marinade, not great.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was cooling the food really quickly, especially the bread.

Overall, I dont think were likely to go back.
