Babur Restaurant
Went here last Sunday evening with my flatmate - first time since they were refurbished. We were worried they might not be as good - they are not, they are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The new decor is very smart, the service excellent - attentive but not intrusive. The food unbelievably good and the prices very reasonable. I had the crab cakes - wonderful but extremely filling. My flatmate had the vegetable pattied and is still raving about them. For mains I had the duck - genrous portion of meat with spinach and a wonderful sweet/sour sauce. My friend had chicken Chettinand which had a spicy sauce and a wonderful wigwam of rice pancake. The food looked beautiful. I wish we could have managed dessert because other people seemed to be enjoying theirs. Will be back soon. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Piaf in the Village (Dulwich)
I went here for the first time last Saturday lunchtime. They were moderately busy. My friend and I arrived about 12.30 and after some difficulty attracted a watiress and ordered our food and a glass of wine each. The wine arrived quite quickly and was fine. 30 minutes went by and no sign of any food, but they were busy and we weren't in a tearing hurry. 50 minutes and I went to the ladies - on my way back out I pointed out that we had been wating a long time for our food. The man I spoke to was quite surly - he said that there was a problem (unspecified) and that we would have to wait a while longer. My friend then went inside and told them that if our food did not arrive in another 5 minutes we would be leaving. 2 minutes later a waitress came out to "check our order". 5 minutes later the food arrived - just over an hour after we ordered it! I had fishcakes and my friend had mushroom linguine. They tasted OK but were not very hot - I suspect they had been left in the kitchen forgotten. We ate, paid and left. We were not offered any explanation, apology or refund. We did not leave a tip. We will certainly not go back.
