Kulu Kulu Sushi (Shelton St)

I went there last night after reading the reviews on this site, I've been there once when they firstly opened and I liked it there. I was surprsed to read the last review and worried that it might have gone down hill since my last visit.

I am pleased to say that it wasn't the case. We went there at 7 on a Friday with a couple of friends. It was quiet when we walked it and not much sushi on the bar. After sitting in and getting our tea, there were more ppl and nearly fill the place in few minutes.

We could see more freshly made sushi were on the bar and they really tasted super. The price is reasonable and you know you can order whatever you like on the menu if those sushi you like are not on the bar for selecton.

My personal recommendation is soft shell crab handroll, you have to try it no matter what. You also can order some hot dishes and they are all v cheap. I mean comparing to Gili Gulu down the road in Covert Garden, I think Kulu Kulu does real and fresh sushi.

I will go there again for sure and I am missing my crab handroll already!

My sister had a birthday party at Pasha last night, it was beautifully set up and the food was great. I had to say that the serivce was the best I ever had, the waitress was very caring and attentive.

With a group of 17 people, the food was served on time and the waitress has given us 100% efford to ensure everything is ok. The atmosphere was lovely with the music and bellydancer. The music wasn't too loud that would stop you talking, it was just perfect.

Thanks for a great night.

Just had a quick coffee with couple of friends last night at Amato, the place was beautiful and the service was great. I've been there few times years ago but this time round it was so much better - thanks to the smoking ban!!

If you want to have a quiet coffee with friends, I will highly recommed this place to meet. The service was good and they are all very friendly.

Just came back from Fantozzi and disappointed with the service tonight. I am a regular there and familiar with the way they servce you... or ignore you.

The food is always good but the service is a really let down. We booked our table in advance and got our table very quickly. We've been asked 3 times if we want a drink. However, when we wanted to place our order, no body was around.. we had to really try hard to get their attention.

I appreicate that Fantozzi is a busy place but they should get more staff. Long wait for the food from starter to main course. We had to ask again 3 times for the bill and a little smile from the waitor would have won him the tips. Sorry, I don't think they deserved any.

Also, a real put off, there were 3 people's birthday tonight, they had to switch off the light and sang the birthday song 3 times during our dinner.. god.. can't they just go to TGI if they want a birthday song!!

London Jade Garden

Very disappointed. Just had a dinner in London Jade Garden last night, the service is the worst ever. If you want to eat 'Take Away' style chinese with slow service, London Jade Garden is your choice.

We went there around 9 last night, got a table next to the entry very quickly. After 2 minutes looking at the menu, a waitress stood there without a smile waiting for our order. We said we were not ready and needed a bit of time, she rolled her eyes and walked off. Thanks for that.

To be honest, we didn't really know what to order and asked for assistance. They didn't seem to bother and ended up having a set menu. We asked if we could replace the starter with something else, they said no and looked very annoyed.

The food was really below standard, worse than my local chinese take away. The vegetable was so greasy covering with oil. The prawn dish was coloured in red and I didn't want to know how they cooked that.

I think I liked the fried rice the most and the ribs if I had to choose. The atmosphere was just ok, small gaps between tables, I felt like the person next to me was too close to us.

Well, value for money? let's just not go there. I could have something much better for the money I paid. Will I go there again? Unless they pay me, otherwise, no!

My husband and I are big fans of Korean food, we've been to Arang few times and I have to say that it is one of the best Korean restaurants in London. To be honest, there aren't that many in town, but you can tell how good a restaurant is by how busy they are.

Unless you get there early before 7, you may be lucky enough to get a table. You will normally need to book in advance. Try weekday, it norally is quiet and you will get really good service.

We went to Arang last night with 2 friends and managed to book the table a day in advance. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet as it was only 6.30. We had our table quickly and the service was very good. The waitor was very attentive and helpful.

We had few starters, and then the Korean BBQ. The food was just delicious and the meat was so tender. We also ordered some noodles soups & rice after the BBQ, they came near the end of the BBQ. The timing was just perfect and we enjoyed every minute there.

The restaurant started to get really busy, there was a private party at the back with a large group of people. Also, the floor was full of people waiting and eating, you can really tell everyone was enjoying their food there.

I will definitely go again and recommedate to try the Kimchee pencake, it was yummmmmmy!!

We went to Misato few weeks ago and we waited for a while to get a table. It is true that the food is good in this restaurant. We have been there so many times in the past few years and we go there really just for the food.

They do the biggest Katsu Curry in town, you just can't complain. It is good value for money in the heart of Central London, the price is more than reasonable there. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, I got 4 pieces of Deep Fried Chicken with thick tasty curry sauce on top. It came with rice and salad, no need to order side dish or anything.

If you want to try, I would suggest you to go early evening. I went there once striaght after work around 5 ish, I got the table quickly without much waiting. There is always a long queue, don't let the queue to put you off.

Thai Metro

I have been to Thai Metro for more than 5 times in the past 3 months, the only reason I returned is the food. There are few similar Thai restaurants near by and believe me, I have tried most of them, Thai Metro's food is a bit better and the portions are bigger.

I only go there for lunch, never eat there in the evening. With the deal they do, £7.50 for two courses, I think it is very reasonable in that area. The service is ok and fast, the food always arrive fresh and hot on your table.

They also do fresh orange juice, which goes really well with the food. I always need to drink that after such a heavy lunch.

Pierre Victoire

Pierre Victoire used to be a romantic restaurant with great service and good food at a very reasonable price. However, the standard seemed to drop when we went there again on our 1st Wedding Anniversary.

We booked the table ahead as we know how busy it would be in that restaurant. When we arrived, it was surprisingly quiet. The service was slow and the waitress wasn't interested much.

We tried to order the mussels for starter but they were not available. It was a great disappointment for me as I loved their mussels. I ordered something else instead but it wasn't as good.

The restaurant started to get busy and it was hard to get attention from the waitress. The main courses came without much waiting but they were cold. We ordered steak and I always loved that they put mashed potato under the steak. However, we just couldn't enjoy it when it was cold even though the steak was cooked perfectly.

It was a real let down and there was no point to tell them as they were too busy servicing other customers. We ate our food and left with great disappointment. No wonder the restaurant was quiet. The service wasn't as good as before, the food was ok but could be improved.

I don't think I will go again until I see more positive reviews on this site. I think it must be the management issues and the food was still good. I used to love this restaurant and I hope to go there again one day with a better experience.

Wong Kei

Yes, you are right. The service is really bad, the place is very dirty. There is no atmosphere, no fancy music playing in the background, no waitor asking you every 3 minutes to check if everything ok, this is Wong Kei, you are there to eat the food - great food at low price. Don't ask for too much please.

I've been eating at Wong Kei for more than 7 years, I know the place well and always go there for a quicky. I went there for a quick dinner with couple of colleagues on Thursday. The food is as good as ever, if you really want to try something different, don't order the same old Sweet and Sour chicken... order the old roast duck on rice, that's my personal recommendation.

If you like spicy food, the hot and sour soup is top class, the price is only £1.60, how can you complain about that? Everything there is cheap, just so cheap that you can't find it anywhere else. So please don't expect you can have a fancy treatment when you are there. Just eat and go, be open-minded!!!

Oriental City Food Court

This is like heaven, a place to eat and shop. I used to study at Middlesex University in Hendon and Oriental City was like my own food court. I was so lucky that I could have different kind of food each and every day, with the choices there, I would never get bored.

As a Chinese myself, it's not just about the food to eat, it's also the culture as well. If you go there near the Chinese New Year, or something, there always has celebration and performance. I think it is just like a small local China Town in North London.

Don't forget to try the restaurant upstairs, they do Dim Sum and again, better than you have in China Town. Fresh and hot, more importantly, it's very good value for money.

KimChee is one of the best places to eat Korean food in London, good value for money and the food is just amazing. We lived miles away from Golders Green but we always go back.

If you like spicy food, please try the spicy beef soup. Trust me, it is the best in the world. I once had it for starter and had it again for main course. Just so tasty that you would love to know how they manage to make it so yummy.

The service is ok but you need to book in advance. You may get a table without booking if you are lucky. We went there once without booking and they managed to fit us in.
