Skylon Restaurant

I completely agree with the last review - great location, great cocktails, very average food indeed. I was sorely disappointed by the food - my red mullet starter was slightly burned and the sauce had no taste, the risotto was made with ordinary rice and had no taste and the dessert was pretty flat too. I'd come back, but only for cocktails at the bar. What a shame!

Pho (St John St)

I eat here on a regular basis, and I have to say that I am a big fan. The phos are very tasty (have the spicy one if you like real spice) and I also love the buns (noodles with hot toppings), which are huge and delicious. The thing which keeps me coming back is that the food is always tasty and very healthy, the staff are friendly and the prices are really great - my other half and I never manage to spend more than £20 on dinner even when we're having lots. I disagree with the reviewer who said that this wasn't authentic food - they have a Vietnamese chef as far as I can understand it - and if they mean it's not authentic because the restaurant has a nice atmosphere (ie. no horrid formica tables) and the staff aren't rude to you - then you can keep your authenticity. This is a brilliant place for lunch and casual dinner. Keep up the good work!
