I went to Okawari this week with my husband. Of course, I chose this restaurant after reviewing all comments from London Eating website.
To be very honest, I felt a bit disappointed about the food quality and itís so far to say it is good Japanese restaurant in London. But it could be very price friendly, if you do not want to surprise yourself when you receive the bill.
We spent £61.70 in total for the following dishes:
Special sashimi Ėit was ok, but itís not fresh cut. All seafood and fishes has been cut and put into fridge
Standard Sushi set: it was OK, reasonable price.
Grill eel: I think it was the best, compared with the rest of our order.
Rice: itís not real Japanese Rice, as it is not sticky not all.
Miso soup: it was the worst miso soup I have ever had. No taste, you can only taste water with a little bit miso paste flavour.
Teriyaki veg & pawns: itís really so so, not tasty not all.
Seaweed salad: it was a bit salty
Although, my husband said he felt it was good. But I think that is because he is European and I am from the Far East; thus our expectations of good Japanese Food are quite different.
Anyway, if you are looking for cheap Japanese, then go ahead and try it.
However, if you are looking for real Japanese food, then it is not the place you should go.
