We have mixed reviews on the Empress,we have been for breakfast which was not too great ,the mushrooms still had earth on them, the black pudding undercooked and the eggs were snotty !
We went for lunch on Mothers Day and our main courses were lovely, desserts were very nice too but my daughters custard to go with her pudding turned up as she was spooning in her last mouthful ! The manager did apologise and did not charge us for that dessert.
My partner and I went for a romantic dinner which was lovely but atmosphere was was spoilt by a screaming ,very tired child who should have been tucked up in bed at that time of night! I am all for child friendly places, but not late in the evening.
We often go there for a drink in the afternoon and sit at the bar, which is lovely and their coffees and juices or gorgeous, though I did spot a bartender topping up a freshly pressed apple juice with juice from a carton !!
Staff are mostly friendly, though their shirts could do with whitening up !!!
