Went for a friend's birthday dinner last night and enjoyed it so much I felt the need to spread the word. Lovely staff and atmosphere and the food was fantastic. I started with a pike salad - great to see such an underrated fish getting used, followed it up with a perfectly pink piece of lamb and ended with a rhubarb burnt cream - after a good natured debate with our waitress she convinced us that this wasnt just a french dish (creme brulee) with an english name and that burnt creams have a long tradition in british cooking, apparently originating at Trinity College, Oxford.
Thoroughly recommended. Good food (but not the cheapest), good drink and a food history lesson thrown in.

An American friend who goes here almost every week took me an a few others along last night and we had a great time. Friendly people, good atmosphere and food unlike any other Mexican food I've had before. Meltingly tender pork belly was the highlight for me, the person next to me had a really beautiful piece of hake that I also enjoyed picking at (as the waitress who served us explained it's all about sharing here).
Add to that zingy salsas, a very unusual but tasty Jicama salad (never had Jicama before, but I like it!) and lots of margaritas and it really was a great night out. Thoroughly recomended - good food, fun place! And try the churros - even better than the ones I used to live off when I lived in Spain!

I wish I lived closer. A friend who has been raving about it for ages took me last night and it lived up to her raves. Simple food that you could tell was made with really good quality ingredients. The real standout dish for me was the rump of lamb - cooked just right and with a real depth of flavour. Combined with friendly people and nice beer! we had a really great meal. After we finished eating a barman suggested I try an apple brandy from Somerset. And good choice it was too! My friend went for a glass of Mead and wasn't so convinced so I finished that off as well and loved it!
