Petrus
The last time I was in the restaurant was under its old guise as La Tante Clare. Although the food then was excellent, the atmosphere was quite stuffy and over formal. As Petrus, the contrast couldn't have been more marked. Not that the service was anything less than perfect, but it was more relaxed and the waiting staff seemed to be enjoying themselves - something that can sometimes go missing in a 2 star michelin restaurant.
The food was magnificent as well. There maybe was not one dish that hit the absolute heights, but the quail came pretty close. What there was though was fantastic consistency, with no dish being less than excellent. Portion size on the tasting menu was also just right. I remember one night at Tom Aikens where by the time I got to the the meat course I was stuffed. Here there was room for cheese and good job too as the selection was mouthwatering.
On the wine, as you can guess you can spend what you like, but there is certainly plenty to cover all budgets and the choice of the sommelier complemented our food very well as well as being not too destructive on the wallet.
A thoroughly enjoyable night all round and I think you'll struggle to have a better blowout meal in the whole of London.

Galvin
Went for the third time last Friday I have to say I enjoyed the food, although didn't think it as great as the other two times I went.
The decor of the restaurant contibutes to a great atmosphere when full as was the case again on Friday. The service though was hit and miss with the emphasis on the miss. Not unpleasant but sloppy with long waits for wine and menus.
Would I go again - yes, but I may wait a while before doing so
