Oxo Tower Restaurant
I had lunch here last week and was reasonably satisfied, though not bowled over. The tables are exceptionally close together - you don't even have to lean over to talk to your neighbours, and you can't walk between the tables. The food itself was really nice, though not, I thought, exceptional. A few faux pas that I consider unacceptable in this level of restaurant - my friend ordered a double espresso but was served a single, and I was served tea in a chipped cup - both mistakes were rectified once pointed out, but I do feel this shouldn't happen when you're paying over £80 per head. Fantastic views of London, and otherwise good service, but we did feel a bit rushed as we had to be out after 2 hours. I would go there again, but not at such a busy time of year.

Gordon Ramsay At 68 Royal Hospital Road
Oh wow! One of the most sublime eating experiences ever had. The staff were charming and attentive without being obsequious, the food was cooked and presented to perfection - and the portions were larger than I would expect at this kind of restaurant. Not a place for a romantic tete-a-tete as the tables are very close together, but certainly a good place for a special meal. I am already looking forward to the next occasion that warrants a booking here as I loved it!

Oh wow! I lunch out a lot at a variety of different restaurants, and I just love this. Food was outstanding, service unbeatable. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

Le Cercle
I'm very fond of this place, and particularly like the booths as it's quieter. The only problem with being in a booth is the waiters tend to forget you and so service can become tiresomely slow. The food though is exquisite, beautifully cooked and presented, and if you are not in a hurry then I can't think of many other places that could beat this one. Bit on the pricey side, so save it for special occasions.
