The Wapping Project
I took a party of 12 work colleagues here earlier this week. It was fabulous. Great atmosphere - the description "industrial chic" is spot on - with candles flickering on chunks of machinery. Marta and our waitress looked after us superbly well and the food was just great - we had the sharing menu which was whole salmon to start followed by lamb. My guests loved the atmosphere and the food - several of the americans had never eaten lamb before and were a bit nervous about it but they all loved it. My boss paid so I don't really know how much it cost on top of the £50 a head sharing menu but everyone including my boss) seemed very happy. Thoroughly recommended.

Benares
I went with a friend for Sunday lunch of their fixed price menu + glass of wine for £25 deal. It was lovely! It feels like a treat going there - lovely bar - and the staff were very very welcoming and friendly. The food was lovely. V limited choice - 3 starters and 3 mains as you'd expect on a fixed price menu - but it was delicious, and we got "free" stuff also like poppadums and chutneys, an amuse bouche, and tea/coffee and chocs to finish with. A great deal.

Bluebird Restaurant
I had a marvelous Saturday evening here yesterday evening. The bar/restaurant looks great and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant staff were superb - very cheerful and friendly. But the bar staff were not so good - we went to sit at the bar for brandy after our meal and really struggled to attract attention/get served - a real shame as otherwise I'd have given 10/10 for service. Food was good but rather outshone by the atmosphere which was great! I imagine it was good value for money but I didn't pay - I was fortunate enough to have my date pay when I wasn't watching! Great place for dinner on a Saturday night - feels special but relaxed.
